I own a pre-prop part

Post by A. Pennyworth »

Dont know if you've seen this post in Props for rsaffle? so I'm posting on it's own!

In the end of Zodiac Crimes 3-parter, Batman uses his "Exploding Bat-a-rang" with de-gelatinizing agent chemicals to counteract the Joker's "Joker Jelly". His concentrated strawberry gelatin to change all the water into what else, strawberry jelly! Well the 2 yellow containers on the Bat-a-rang looked very familiar to me and in fact I have several of them!

Do you know, or what do you think they are from?

rsaffle/Randy I'll send you a pair if you wish? --john

A. Pennyworth I would love to have them. I appreciate the offer very much!

Of course it will lead me into making the whole thing. Ha ha

Well maybe I should re-phrase my question. I know what they are from, probably many boys (maybe some girls too perhaps) of our era had them growing up. They were component parts of something more as a whole, not really a toy, something educational. Any guesses?

I always thought they looked like the containers and the burner from a chemistry set my brother had back then. I wouldn't be surprised if one of Batgirl's pill boxes was one of the other circular containers. Now looking at the old set I see quite a few parts used in the Batlab case.

Bingo Scott,
I had the Sears Chemistry set, almost like the Skil-Craft one and still have most of the set.

I've always wondered if the suitcase was simply repurposed or created by the prop department

Me too. The interesting part is how the interior is molded to fit each piece. That would make me think they repurposed something but it would have to be that exact setup. My mind is a flutter. LOL

Cutting and painting styrofoam to size with cut-outs for the bottles would be an option, I guess? The odds of finding interior packaging of a chemistry set being that would be the perfect size for the briefcase chosen as the donor prop, is improbable, right?

I think we discovered another prop.
This lab tube looks to be The Entrancing Dr. Cassandra's Invisible Pill bottle. I've been looking for that for awhile.

Haven't had luck finding it in a vintage chemistry set yet though. You don't have this in your set do you Pennyworth?

Same lab bottle with top! Now we have to find one out in the wild!

I just picked up some of these bottles. The batarang could be a fun thing to do.

Glad you do these type of things so I don't have to. I live vicariously through you. ;)
