Royal Order of the Belgravian Garter prop: Catwomans Dressed to Kill

Post by rsaffle »

"You know what this is Batman?
The Royal Order of the Belgravian Garter."

Jim Gordon

"Five decorations one for the each of us.
For finding her majesties golden fleece and returning it to her.
And for finding her majesty.
Locked up in a closet off that throne room she was.
And its a lucky thing that we discovered her too.
There are enough international crisis running around without
us starting one with Belgravia."

Chief O’Hara:

Catwoman's Dressed to Kill
Season 3, Episode 14

Batprop #68

Truth is I don't have the ribbon done yet and i just added it in Photoshop. The only ribbon I found in the right colors would cost me about 15$ to buy and then just take up more space in my cabinet and it still wouldn'tmatch the satin look of the original so I'm thinking about just displaying the medal until I find a better option. I'm notoriously cheap. Lol

I didn't know that matching that ribbon would be so hard when I started.

Thanks Dell. I did see those too. I didn't think 5/8 or 1" was wide enough. One Etsy dealer had 3" but that was the 15$ 5 yards worth.

Appreciate the help though.

Very nice interpretation on a prop where the screen grabs don't show much detail. One thing I notice is that perhaps the medal isn't solid but has a laurel wreath like circle with some cut outs similar to the French Legion of Honor, but maybe not as leafy! Nice job once again.

This is the toughest part of making these props. I research as much as possible before I design but end up guessing for much of it. I agree with your references and the cut out. Gives me a reason to make an improved version now. :?)

Thanks Pennyworth!
