Bugging Devices & Electronic Trackers Props

Post by rsaffle »

Green Hornet & Kato used these Bugging Devices & Electronic Trackers and planted them to receive audio transmissions discreetly, or placed them on persons or vehicles to allow electronic tracking. The Hornets Bug device looks an awful lot like a salt shaker lid. lol

Bonus History Lesson- GPS Trackers created in the 1960s during the Cold War, the US and the Soviet Union competed on who could create the coolest tech. The Soviets launched into outer space the “Sputnik”, the first satellite to orbit our planet. The American military also saw value in this technology and launched their own satellite. Throughout the 60s, the US military tracked its submarines, and hence, the GPS was born. Civilian use started in 1983 after a Korean Air Lines Flight 0007 veered off course into restricted Soviet airspace. It was mistaken for a spy plane and was shot down. President Reagan, in response, decided to release GPS technology to prevent future tragedies.

A Bug is a covert listening device and is usually a combination of a miniature radio transmitter with a microphone. The use of bugs or wiretapping is a common technique in surveillance, espionage and police investigations.

BTW...2020 the technology is being turned on the Hornet: UW researcher put tiny tracking technology on giant hornets to help state deal with murderous pest. Scientists have been trapping the so-called “murder hornets” and attempting to track them back to a nest for weeks. Three hornets trapped in nests this week were tagged with tiny radio trackers and one led the WSDA to the nest.
