Custom Hornet shirt

Post by rsaffle »

I recreated this logo from an old tshirt photo I found online. I loved the vintage look. My brother bought a sublimation printer and shirt press and this was my 1st attempt playing with it. The image is part of the shirt now. Will not wash off, same as what you would buy.

I'm going to have fun with this!

Making props and t-shirts now, you've got a whole new business... Looks great, Randy

Actually it's my brother's new business but if I like it maybe I'll buy me the setup too.

If he makes them available I will let everyone know. I could make the design for sure. Anything is possible now. Just need some more experience with it.

You have said it before that we live in a cool time. Pretty much anything is possible for the person that wants it. With 3d printing! Sculpting and mold making, digital imaging and video to shirts and embroidery and on.

Soon we will print our new purchases ourselfs or it will be made on demand and delivered. No stock required or even packaging. Copyright will be hard to control just like it is with movie downloads. I've already found sites with 3d printed toy replacement pieces. If your missing Big Jim's left foot it will be replaceable soon. Vintage toys will be completely printable on demand.

This new tech is creating new art forms and the need for more digital artists creators.

All of this tech will change life as we know it.

Sort of like a Star Trek replicator

So how do we get a shirt like this.

Try this one
That's a cool design too! I haven't had time to mess with my bothers sublimation printer. That Hornet shirt was my first and only so far. I need to learn some more about it and find a good shirt for it. These kind of printers work on polyester and poly blends but not on 100% cotton unless you spray them with a spray first but I haven't tried that yet. The less poly in the blend the more faded retro look it would print at. That is a cool effect and the color of the shirt matters too. The cotton spray process is a slowdown if I wanted to try and move some of these. Personally, I like cotton shirts better so that slowed my roll.

I just figured out I can sublimation print prepared aluminum panels too. That opens the door for some cool retro signs. Maybe some old toy ads in my future! I want a CNC router to cut out aluminum shapes! Also making myself a vacuum forming machine. I want it all. lol
