The "fight" was not a real fight at all, and certainly not in the manner depicted in that dullard Tarantino's film.

Don't believe this story for a second. Anyone ever been in a real fight? It causes a lot of destruction. As someone who was a ranked boxer at one time I unfortunately had my share of yokels come up to me and see if they could show me up. If one of these fights had happened on an expensive movie set where I was being paid I would have been fired. Don't believe what you see in Hollywood movies when there is a fight and people are standing around watching, it's a lot messier than that.

That is a good article and thanks for sharing. Based on all that I have read through the years, my personal conclusion is that the relationship between Bruce Lee and the stuntmen was not smooth at the beginning. I also read the same episode with Gene LeBell that is mentioned in the article years ago. So, in my opinion there must be some truth to all these stories.

One last point about Tarantino's movie. Shannon Lee disagreed with the portrayal in the movie. But, according to this report from Hollywood Reporter she went even further and asked the Chinese censors to intervene in this matter. If she indeed did this, then it did no good and it hurt her cause. You can read the Hollywood Reporter article here:

The whole story was made up using real people and some real events. He ripped up Lee's image too make Pitt's fictional character look tougher. Most people that grew up in that time realize what Tarantino did but the younger generation probably will view it as history. Kinda like the way schools today seem to be rewriting history that they are teaching. Lol
