The “Speedster” Green Hornet car from the first serial.

Was watching the first GH movie serial with my son and saw an opportunity to take a decent shot of the original 2 door “Black Beauty” from that serial, in case anyone was interested.

I loved this car!! 1937 Lincoln Zephyr with some minor customizing.

Like the art deco touches to the fender skirts.

One police character said it would outrun their bullets! Ha ha. I don’t quite understand why he would have it make that hornet sound, though. Just seems to get him in trouble because the bad guys know when he’s coming and the police know when he’s leaving.

Loved this car ever since I first saw the serial on VHS. George Barris would usually referred to this car when referring to the Batmobile of the comics being a Zephyr with a bat face on the front.

I always thought the car would have made a great Batmobile too.

Just remember that the Black Beauty came first! January 1936 for BB VS. May 1939 for BM. Just want make sure we keep our Bats and Hornets separate! LOL!!!!

You can tell where my allegiance lies......
