Green Hornet mask?

Post by rsaffle »

I found this on someone's media post. Any chance that's a Hornet mask in the big stocking? What else could it be?

It’s kind of scary looking!

Not the same as this “official” mask, but very possibly intended as a GH mask.

Stated to be from a 1975 SEARS catalog, probably a stocking full of leftover stuff, maybe mask was part of another costume not GH related?

Very cool "find"! I don't know what else it could have been.

1975?? Oh, if only my family came across that! I know there would have been at least two shocked and happy youngsters in the house!

Tough to say. It looks like it, but there's no hornet logo above the nose bridge. Than again, as we've seen with slight or subtle changes with many knockoff products, leaving the hornet off it would help avoid licensing issues. My vote goes for it being a GH mask.

I think it looks more like an alien or monster mask. It looks like there are “warts” or something on the mask(?)

Biff, I see what you mean now that I look at it more. I actually find it odd as the mask seems more of a fit for Halloween than Christmastime. It really stands out a la the old Sesame Street 'One of these things is not like the others...' It actually gets a little more bizarre the more you think about it.
