A great loss. The Hackman movie was "The Conversation," which had an unofficial sequel years later in "Enemy of the State."

Cazale famously appeared in only five movies, all of which were Best Picture nominees. Both Godfather films and The Deer Hunter won Best Picture. The Conversation lost to Godfather 2; Dog Day Afternoon lost to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
