Detective Comics #1000 tie-in to 80th anniversary

Post by zarm106 »

Alex Ross' website is accepting pre-orders on Feb 26th for his variant covers for Detective Comics #1000 which is coming out in March. There are various exclusives that you can select from.

For this milestone anniversary, Alex Ross created an all-new Batman painting — his stunning recreation of the original first appearance of The Batman from 1939's DC Comics, Detective Comics #27. It's presented here in an exclusive variant cover with vintage-style trade dressing just as released 80 years ago.

New cover created exclusively for #1000

Would have worked better with the purple gloves. That's a little detail that I like about the original Bat Man.

You know guys, I agree. But when I zoom in on the gloves, they are kinda purply. Definitely not black, like the rest of the suit. Maybe the original is more obvious? Mr. Ross is usually known for details, no?

I zoomed, I still see blue-black.
Still a nice cover though.
