Anyone here know someone from any of the Star Treks?
On The Rocketry Forum someone started a thread similar to 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon. Not knowing anyone from Star Trek myself I figured you guys were my last, best hope.
HA! See what I did there? Quoted the wrong thing!

Multiple board members were friends with Frank "Commissioner Bele" Gorshin and Yvonne "Marta" Craig. Depending on how you define being "from" Star Trek, they count as having guest starred on the original series, or provide one degree of separation from its regular cast.
Board members who knew Adam West also can claim one degree of separation from the original Captain Kirk, since Adam co-starred with William Shatner in the "Alexander the Great" TV pilot.

I once had drinks with William Shatner at a hotel bar, to thank him for getting me to invest in Priceline stock. I waited out a rainstorm in Chicago with Nichelle Nichols in a hotel vestibule at another show, and in New York I pushed Jimmy Doohan in his wheel chair when his handler went to get his car, so I guess I have a few.

And now that I think about it Scott knew Yvonne and she was in the original series; so that would be 2.
They seem to be playing pretty loose with the definitions on who you can claim to know from Star Trek.

We had a topic in 2006 were we found over 30 actors in Star Trek and on Batman. The link is no longer active but the topic was somewhat reposted in this thread. Maybe you've met someone listed here that gets you close?

Do conventions count? If so, in the few that I've attended I've met Adam West, Burt Ward, William Shatner, & Grace Lee Whitney ( vintage Batman/Star Trek wise actors)

I have a friend who was one of the 2 Romulans that "arrested" Picard and took him to Spock in the 2 part Next Generation series episodes that reintroduced Spock to the TV franchise.

Yes, a musician friend of mine Eden Kane (Rick Sarstedt). Rick was in many episodes including the first episode of TNG where he was piloting the ship.
In the UK he's best known for his #1 hit 'Well I Ask You' and his brother was Peter Sarstedt who wrote and recorded 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely'.

I knew Frank (first one I got to know outside of a convention), Yvonne, Malachi and have known Lee and Julie. Met a few of the original Star Trek cast here and there at conventions and other functions but never got to know any of them socially like the Batman folks who guested on Trek.

My favourite Trek brush with fame was Grace Lee Whitney (Neela in "Batman", Yeoman Rand in "Star Trek"). She was at a convention in Brisbane in 1982, where we spent lots of time chatting and, when she was flying home to LA, she had to go through Sydney. I organised to collect her from the domestic airport and get her over to the International (not connected in those days). Then in early 1984, I caught up with her for coffee in the actors' agency where she worked, and in 1991 - where she accidentally told me about her secret cameo in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" - and we found each other again at De Forest Kelley's Star Ceremony on the Walk of Fame.

I have worked on stage with Walter Koenig, George Takei, James Doohan, Susie Plakson, John Lancie, Jonathan Del Arco and Judson Scott. I have been a guest in the homes of Majel Barrett, George Takei and Leonard John Crofoot. I have interviewed George Takei, Billy Van Zandt and Paul Winfield.

"Holy nostalgia, Batman!"

I also have met and spoke with every Trek regular EXCEPT, Bill Shatner and George Takei. I did get to speak with George Takei after winning a copy of his autobiography, "To The Stars". I highly recommend it, btw. I spent most of three days with the late Grace Lee when She appeared at Trek Fest in Riverside, Iowa (Official future birthplace of J.T. Kirk TOS, courtesy of Gene Roddenberry). I was a Fan Guest of Honor at that one and I got to escort Her to a number of places in close-by Iowa City. She could STILL turn on the 'Glitz' when need be, but most of the time, She was "Grandma Grace to my 3 children who had accompanied us to Trek Fest. We even went to church with Her. We kept in contact until She passed away. I even got to talk to Gene R. and Majel Barrett Roddenberry when they showed up in St. Louis for one of His lectures. Leonard Nimoy was a lot of fun as well, but that's a different story for another night! Cheers!
