Re: Latest NON 66 Batman item I bought today
Greetings to All!
I just picked up at Wally World the 1989 Keaton Batmobile by JADA. It looks to be the same scale as the 66 Batmobile. Other than the Batmobile from the animated "Brave and the Bold", it is my favorite, non-comic/TV Batmobile. I wish Jada would put out a comic accurate 1950's Bubble canopy Batmobile in the small size as the others. We'll see how well these sell and perhaps we shall get some more small size models. I won't say what the price is, but I will say, by today's standards, it is cheap!
Cheers!

Picked up this vintage Duncan water gun that I had as a kid. I've wanted it for some time and I got lucky on the price. I plan on 3d printing a plug. I think they are all missing. Lol

Cool to see Super Powers back in action-- Lou wouldn't the 1:43 scale 1950 Batmobile be close enough?

I’ll put the side by side, but the 1/43 scale will dwarf the 1:50 if both are in the pic.

I was gifted this from a friend that got it in a mystery online auction. Interesting that it reads Captain Marvel fights the mole men in Dallas. I can't read it but im so curious its in Dallas where I live.
1944 is pretty amazing too.

Crack it open! Comics should be read!
Although if you don't want to open it shoot me a PM, I think I have a PDF of the issue.

Re: Latest NON 66 Batman item I bought today
Picked up an early BATMAN at Terrificon in CT this weekend. This particular issue of Batman is one of my favorites and one that's tough to find at a good price in good condition-- white covers are like that. Back in the mid to late 80s when I was collecting a run of Pre-Robin Detectives and BATMAN COMICS #1-20 (that original run was a divorce casualty) the #7 was one that eluded me.
Well flash forward all these years later and I'm reassembling the team-- I've long learned my lesson that if you need cash go to a bank because your collectibles are going to increase in value a lot quicker than that interest rate they give you will. I've always thought #7 was a striking cover.
I also got some other Golden Age Comics, Black Cat Western, Looney Tunes from the 1940s and Rangers Comics but my favorite after the Batman has to be this great America's Greatest Heroes from Fawcett-- Captain Marvel WWII era Machine Gun Cover! I love Fawcett Comics, Harvey Comics and Dell Looney Tunes from the 1940s.
The show was held at Mohegan Sun Casino which is a very nice venue, I'm not a gambler although I have been known to play a couple of hands of Blackjack or spin the Roulette Wheel-- I don't like losing money. While I was at the show I was hoping to catch up to John Romita Jr who is my favorite current comic artist working today-- he and I have a long history together that goes back to the 90s but I haven't kept up with him. He was the big star of the show but every time I went by his table he was off doing a panel or something. After the show Mrs Fish joined me and we met friends for dinner at a nice place and lo and behold as I come around a corner there's John! We caught up and he's still the nicest guy in the world. NOTE: MY expression is because my wife dropped my phone before taking the photo so I was calculating in my head how much this trip cost me after buying that Batman and Captain Marvel!
My wife was able to do some shopping in the Mall area and I occupied myself at Tommy Bahama and then I was the unofficial Casino photographer for couples trying to take selfies in front of the many waterfalls and artifacts-- met a lot of nice people. Then we joined our sons and Ted and his crew at Superworld Comics for dinner and had a nice time.

It seems like the off topic section is even more dead than the main board lately-- you guys spend all your time on Facebook now. Anyway, picked up this Sideshow Toys BATMAN NOIR figure-- I almost ordered it when it was up on the site and passed, so I had to pay collector prices since it's out of production but I LOVE this. Black and white really works, and it gives off serial vibes to me.

Andy,
Some random thoughts swirling around.
Love the Noir vibe, which is another reason I got the McF BW Batman, with BW Robin to follow.
Sometimes I feel like I'm entertaining myself here - no one home. Still every once in a while a topic hits home. Might be due to summer time. FB has some 25 66 Batman sites so you sort of have to taste each to get a flavor. One thing I'll say for some of them - it seems like a lot of newbies, in that they don't know much about the series but are eager to learn, regardless of age. If it is young people, that's a plus for the series.
I'm surprised when a group dissolves on the FB. Poof - gone.
