Al Jaffee died April 10th at age 102

I'm sure most of you recognize the name, but in case you don't he was a long time cartoonist for Mad Magazine. A brilliant cartoonist.

when he did the mad fold-in on the back..mad magazine was independent..the money was split by the artists..and rent for the office..he told me at a con ..imagine all you have to do is one cartoon a month..and you get paid in full..that was the life..sadly mad magazine does not survive him

I’ve had so many of those old Mad magazines. Still have a stack going back to the early 60s. Always enjoyed Jaffee’s work - and Mort Drucker’s. Would try to see the fold-in image without doing the folding.

Great video. I know what he means: I was always happy when cartooning.
