I'm going to have to think about this one for a while. I am leaning toward the Siren, but the Bookworm needs some serious consideration too.

Bookworm for me. I was always a big fan of Roddy McDowall.

I'd vote for both Bookworm and Siren. They were two of the most evil villains to ever hit Gotham City.

Citizens,
Time is of the essence.
His Royal Majesty, the Clock King, is worthy of support in this poll because he appears in the comics and, hypothetically, might lead to the inclusion of more villains from the source. Also, the comics are the best source of episode ideas and the character's exploits are there waiting to be exploited.
So, take the time to support the rogue who uses time for crime.

Tune in for their exciting conclusion. Same Bat-Time! Same Bat - Channel!

I chose The Siren. With the benefit of hindsight, we know that Joan Collins was destined to bring to life one of the greatest TV villainesses of all time, Alexis Carrington Colby of Dynasty. I truly believe that had she been brought back to play Siren, say, two or three more times, she could have made the Diabolical Diva of Gotham City every bit as memorable as Alexis is. Joan and Siren accounted for one of the few good matches of performer and original baddie during the show's run, and I think the character could have had staying power.
'I thought Siren was perfect for Joan.'--Stanley Ralph Ross, writer of 'The Wail of the Siren'
My hobbies include gazing at the Siren and doing her bidding, evil or otherwise.
'She had a devastating, hypnotic effect on all the men.'--A schoolmate describing Joan Collins at age 17

My choice is Bookworm. He definitely, absolutely, positively should have had another appearance.
His character brought such a different twist and plot to the episodes. You couldn't really predict his next move or angle as much as you could others, such as the Famous Four, and he was so young! I think he really brought something fresh to the show. Contrary to what a person who had never seen the episodes would think, a literary criminal was actually very exciting, more exciting than the Puzzler in my humble opinion
Has the whole world gone batty!?!?

Maurice Evans was a bit too old and staid for the part, in my opinion.
He was an excellent actor, especially on Bewitched. But he just didn't have the get up and go that a BatVillain needs.

I'd go with the Siren. With her ability to hypnotize, she could easily turn into a "kingpin of crime" by hypnotizing other criminals into doing her bidding while staying in the background. A team-up with her doublecrossing the Joker or the Penguin by hypnotizing them unawares or over the phone could be a fun bit of deception for Batman to uncover.

I agree that Maurice (he pronounced it "Morris"??) Evans was a great actor and may have made a much better villain if he wasn't playing a character that was a blatant ripoff of The Riddler. To be honest, I did love his fiendish deathtrap (sending B&R up in a balloon that will drop them once it reaches 20,000 feet), but his Puzzler was never fully fleshed out and was more hammy than your local deli.Riddlersgurl wrote:Maurice Evans was a bit too old and staid for the part, in my opinion.

I kept expecting him to start quoting Shakespeare, the way he did as Maurice, Samantha's father.
To be a BatVillain, you need a certain amount of pep in your step; he didn't have that.
He was more of a villainous grandpa past his prime, that should be teaching all sorts of chicanery to his grandchildren.

Is that a compliment or an insult?
I'm afraid I don't really get the reference.
