Spoilers Batman 66 #6 Chandell's Chanteuse
The real villain is The Siren. It wasn't bad but expected more from Siren than robbing rich patrons at a concert.
One problem too, they mention that surgeons repaired Chandell's hands being repaired by surgeons. As I far as I know nothing was wrong with his hands. He slammed them in a piano lid at a presidential recital. He had to use a piano roll for that concert but was fine afterward.
He was drawn as a blonde, I believe Liberace had dark hair.

I agree with clavierankh that it was a pretty basic caper for the Siren, too basic for someone of her criminal ambition. It's also frustrating that apparently they couldn't get the rights to Joan Collins' likeness, although I thought artist Jonathan Case did a good job making up for that with the way he drew Siren. There were a couple of panels that reminded me of Joan Collins during her starlet phase in the 1950s.

High C,since Bruce Wayne,s date Kathy Kane was the original Batwoman, did she change into Batwoman in this issue to help Batman capture The Siren?Thank You.

Yes, but only as a hallucination in Batman's mind. She really foiled Siren as Kathy Kane.

Re: Spoilers Batman 66 #6 Chandell's Chanteuse
I have to admit, the more I look at it and the more I think about it, it's bitterly disappointing that Joan Collins' likeness wasn't able to be used. Because of that, for me, something extremely important is missing. I mean, to me, she IS The Siren. The character was written specifically for Joan Collins.
Sigh.

I thought that the likeness for The Siren was excellent.

They were nice drawings, yes, but they weren't of Joan Collins.elmrgraham wrote:I thought that the likeness for The Siren was excellent.

I always had a "thing" for the 3 Scottish hench-babes who would blow the annoying bagpipes in your face. I hope they get an issue and a bat fight

I actually thought the depiction of The Siren was an improvement over Joan Collins, I've never seen her appeal. Sorry Siren fans.

Citizens,
I, too, thought the Siren story was very straightforward. It made sense though. I think, apart from reforming, the Chandell continuity was a little off, but could be explained in future issues.
I thought Siren's enhanced abilities were interesting and the comic capitalized on Batman's hallucination nicely. The idea of this episode being a prelude for a larger crime wave is interesting.
