Villain Theme Party
Hello! I am brand new to this board but have found many threads very useful as a lurker.
At the end of the month I'm having a birthday party and the theme is Batman 66 Villains - all the guests have to come dressed as a villain from the tv series. My friends are a wide variety of nerdy/costuming types, so everyone is getting really into it. My husband is going to be Bruce Wayne (then Batman) and I'm going to be Dick/Robin (even though I already ordered the new Batgirl costume-I may change my mind and be Batgirl) and we will receive a phone call at some point in the party and change into our alter egos and it's just generally going to be a good time for a group of silly adults.
I already procured quite a few CDs of some nice, cheesy music from 1966-1968. I'm repurposing my wedding chuppah into a photobooth where our guests can get their photos taken while being punched by us (with big POW etc signs as a back drop). Do any of you fine folks have any other great ideas?

Re: Villain Theme Party
Welcome to the board and what a great idea for a party.
Maybe the villians could "steal" and hide the birthday cake or a present and leave clues for Batman and Robin (or Batgirl) to investigate and find it. Sort of like scavenger hunt where one clue leads to the next one, etc. until you find the missing item. The clues could be in the style of each villian. So the Riddler could leave a riddle, the Joker a joke, etc. Obviously this would take some planning before the party.
We would LOVE to see photos of the party.

Welcome to the boards, and that sounds like a fun party!

If any of you are close to Ohio, you are more than welcome to join in!
What a great idea for clues! Except I don't know what everyone is coming as! I know some, but others are a surprise. One guest might come as Hamburgler. We are not being hard line about the dress code.
I love this theme so much I may have a Batman 66 party twice a year! By complete coincidence, my birthday falls the same weekend as ComicCon and I think a friend or two might be bringing people from the Con. This might turn out to be a massive party - we have a small little 50s home but with a basement bar and a big patio, so it can hold a fair amount of people, just maybe not all in one room. We had our wedding at a local neighborhood cinema with a nice bar and often throw our parties there just because of space (and then people buy their own drinks and someone else cleans up) so maybe it'll be there next time. Depending upon I whether I can get my friends as excited as I.

The Villain Gathering was a great time!
My mom and I made WAY too much food, and a generous friend ordered that Batgirl cake for me

I made silly decor

One of my friends with a great artistic eye did all the work with the photo booth:

Which demonstrates how much everyone got into the theme.
Schmoozing guests:

Most the guests were gone by midnight and a friend who was on her way to a Motown dance party took us there.

Which is where I determined that I need to just become what we refer to as High Street Color - everyone loved Batgirl. I felt like a character at Disney. I think I'll go out as Batgirl more often.
Everyone got SO into it and was generally just really imaginative. It was a great time and I only wish I could throw it all over again.

Wow! Great stuff.
Are my eyes deceiving me or did someone dress as The Siren?

That is so amazing and inspiring. You have some pretty cool friends that they would go all out on the costumes like that. Well done!
