To answer the question of the trumpet blares being off cue in the opening intro of the first two episodes... Think of a band in a recording studio, a band might do several takes of a particular song. Then the members of the band and or your sound engineer will pick and choose the best takes of the session. The best take(s)will be the ones that are either preserved or put on the CD. In this case two different takes were used in the series. If you notice, after the last trumpet blare(in the intro of the first two eps.) you see the fight words without any trumpet blares. my best guess is this was intentional...(please don't think of me as strange for saying this) I liked the "Batman's" being sung over the musical score, and the trumpet blares(especially coming to the end of the cue) made the intro sorts busy...it was kinda nice to have a couple eps with the intro like this.
Something interesting to note or bookmark, I seem to remember the original airings had another ep where the intro was like this...I think it was " the 13th hat"

I'm hoping that along with a DVD AND Blu-Ray release we have, of course, complete and un-cut, un-edited episodes -- everything as originally aired including the iconic "BATMAN In Color" bumpers and the "Next Week: The Joker!" (or any other various villains) announcements at the closing of the show -- excellent, informative, extensive and highly entertaining extras and bonus special features. Anything less would seem like missing the mark on getting the definitive version of our beloved BATMAN series on home video!!!
Okay Warner??? I hope you're paying attention and listening.....

Yes all Batman in color bumpers should be before every episodes starts. And the tune in next week villains announcements at the end. Also they can fix that the trumpet blares just by adding a intro that has it right that is a easy fix. Hope WB does it right and give us a remaster set as well can't wait so Happy, Happy!!!!

Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!
My thoughts on the trumpet blasts in the first two episodes is that it was a pilot, and that things weren't quite worked out yet. I noticed in someone's screen cap in another thread that Batman's utitity belt pouches open upward instead of downward in the first two episodes. Again, something they hadn't quite worked out yet.
And I'm in the camp hoping they keep the original pilot trumpet blasts rather than 'fixing' the intro.
I hope some more of this kind of stuff turns up.
And if the WABC-TV interview turns up again, I'd like to see it. I love interviews and behind-the-scenes type of stuff.

Thanks for those links, Robin Holyisms.Robin Holyisms wrote:Yes on the old forums a member posted two behind the scenes video's, which could be included in a release of the series.That_weirdo_Cage wrote:Does anyone have a sense of how likely various extras might be? The two biggies I can think of are the Batgirl Pilot short and the ERA public service advertisement from the seventies, but I bet there are others for which we could hope. It would be nice to have this material in decent full-resolution.

And during one of my searches on YouTube i came across an on set interview with Adam West. Sadly i can't remember what the title of the video was, and it'S not appearing in my watched video history anymore. BUT i did come across this image during a Google search yesterday.

About the time Batman started ABC went to all color. All the shows IIRC had the in color bumpers. I could see them excluded from other shows released to DVD, somehow though they seem like a part of Batman. I'd loe to have them included.

I'm not certain if the Batgirl pilot or the Equal Pay PSA will make the cut, but in my view, they are vital; Batgirl for obvious reason, and the PSA as it illustrates just how popular the Dozier version was long after the series' cancellation. I would even include the 70s Rally Wax commercial, as it was of the big syndication period, and clearly based on the '66 series.That_weirdo_Cage wrote:Does anyone have a sense of how likely various extras might be? I am wondering when we will here more details? I am sure the studio is talking to Adam, Burt and Yvonne about extras and trying to finalize that piece.
Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!
I just want to know when LOL a release date would be so awesome, like everyone else I want lots of extras I'm sure though warner bros will give us them though even at a high price I'll pay it LOL
Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!
This is just a GUESS
but I think it will be around Christmas. I know that seems like a long time to wait, but considering I've wanted this since I saw the first VCR with a Goldfinger tape in a Curtis Mathis store in the mall in 1975, I think I can wait. This time will also give WB time to get thoughts on extras and make a great release.
BTW, is 20th Century Fox part of any of this? I find it odd the Mattel figures etc do not have a Fox logo the packaging. Did WB BUY the series from Fox, or what exactly happened here?

The merchandise deal was announced as a license deal to Warner. It's not clear what's going on with the DVDs. At one point, a Fox person said on Home Theater Forum that if the show was released on DVD then Fox would release it, but that obviously changed. Either Warner paid Fox a lot up front or they have agreed to some kind of joint venture.Batguitarist wrote:BTW, is 20th Century Fox part of any of this? I noticed in Gleep's post that Ernest Borgnine was on the set? What episode is he in?

Dear fellow bat-fans,
I have to give MAD props to Warner and Fox. They ACTUALLY got an agreement ironed out. In the words of Charlie Sheen, "kudos!" How soon can we expect the "bat" to be in the DVD section? And will it be uncut, or will some stuff have to be "lost" for the sake of a definitive, legit set?
