Extremely positive news. IF ANYONE has a list of the lost radio episodes or just the ones that have not made it to personal media I would like to see that list. I am trying to hear all the old radio episodes. Can anyone suggest which collection I should buy to start with.

Is the very first episode from radio available to own?

None of the early episodes were recorded.
It seems the idea for transcription discs first surfaced when writer Fran Striker thought it would be a good idea to have a character in a Green Hornet episode listening to the Lone Ranger as part of the broadcast.
So a Lone Ranger episode from December 17th, 1937 was the first WXYZ show recorded (directly to a disc).
The following May (1938) WXYZ recorded 3 Green Hornet episodes. It would appear the idea of a Transcription service was a popular one as after that it seems hundreds of episodes were recorded and survived.
Martin Grams and Terry Salomonson have written the definitive book about the history of Green Hornet which I thoroughly recommend.
They were given unprecedented access to the estate which revealed George Trendle kept hundreds of transcription discs in storage, some of which have recently been cleaned up and released commercially with the advent of digital audio cleaning software.
Fran Striker donated many of his scripts to a University Library so there would potentially be the possibility to make new productions of the earlier episodes which weren't recorded at the time. Whether it's commercially viable is another subject.
