I'm guessing a ComicCon announcement like the rest of you, but let's not forget that in the days immediately after Conan's tweet about the show coming to DVD, Warner said more details were coming "soon." It's been nearly 5 months, so that clearly wasn't true.

I think Conan let the cat of the bag, and WB was caught scrambling to respond. Scott and I will disagree to the day we're in the old Batfans home rocking away on the front porch but I'm certain they had planned the announcement for last year's comic con-- hence the DVD like design of the bag, and hurdles appeared again that needed to be cleared.

Once the agreement for the likeness licensing was made, we all knew the show was next. It'll be released this year, and there will be a small percentage of fans that won't be happy with it. But the majority of us will finally get to watch it again (officially) in that great clean color.

I was wondering what you meant by that.

I meant that the film elements being used are saturated nitrate so the show will look like it did when it aired on color sets in the 60s. Many of today's fans are used to the washed out prints in syndication so they will think it's either too dark or off color from what they expected. But you can't make everyone happy.

There's also the magic of the internet where some people like to just unleash their displeasure over something hiding behind a screen name. I can imagine what it would have been like if we'd had it back in the 70s when I got my first Captain Action Batman figure or the corgi Batmobile! Neither of which was a shrunk down micro perfect example of the real thing, but both of which I loved and continue to love for all their faults today.

The DVDs are finally coming out, despite the naysayers who incorrectly thought this was some kind of secret plan from DC or Warner's to keep "our" Batman down. Now they'll need to find something else to complain about.

The Neca figure is a foot and a half tall! And it's available for about $60 if you shop right! And it's crazy heavy! And it's got a weird stomach hinge that seems to do little for it's articulation, and sometimes they break during shipping.

All very bad things, but if Neca put the extra work into it this would be a $400 figure. As it is, buy it if you can look past the waist joint, send it back for a replacement if it arrives broken, get a stand for it before you display it, pass on it if you can't do those things. But why sit an d complain about it?

I can't wait for the pre-order to show up! I hope they have mock-up packaging at SDCC this year!

Dear fellow bat fans,

Does ANYONE out there know if all episodes in the OFFICIAL set will be a full 25 minutes each? Or in layman's terms, 100% uncut? I know there are those of you that are able to bend some ears. Thank you for your time...

I just have to go on record in front of my fellow Bat-fans for a moment.
Andy - thank you for expressing what I have been thinking for the longest time. I haven't said it on here, been a semi-lurker on here, but I really feel a great affinity to so many of you, it's what brings me back to this page every day and reading what comments or posts you all make.
This is a great year for us Bat-fans, to think that by the end of the year we will finally have the tv series on DVD or Blu-ray is indescribable.
The fact that some of us are even getting the chance to officially make new Batman stories with the Adam West Batman (I am looking at you Ralph WTG!) is livin' the dream.
You guys have all made this place feel like the Secret Batman Society clubhouse where like minded individuals hang out -
Andy - I wish I lived in the Boston area, I would love to hang out with you, I loved your old daily blog postings and loved reading and seeing your art that you post there - I don't make it to Tumblr as much, but feel as if I know you so well!
To everyone on this board - Thanks for being so accepting as fans, thanks for nit picking and pointing out so many little known facts about this great show, I love this website, I love the moderators, and I love my fellow fans!
To stay on topic - who thinks that there will be some sort of Best Buy/Walmart/Target special edition with some kind of bonus features of this set?

In this day and age I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility. Maybe they could release it at Starbuck's with a free coffee of your choice in a special commemorative Bat-mug for buying the DVDs! "Grande size, please."

Aw shucks, thanks Sully! The Blog is back to being active, I had a LOT of emails from followers to bring it back so it's back!
Great time to be a Batfan! Marvelbloodhound-- I've heard they will be from source films, which would tell me they are uncut. BUT does uncut include the IN COLOR, etc? I would guess so but I don't know. Maybe Ralph or Wally does?

What about "Scat! Darn Catwoman?" Will that FINALLY be including the footage where Ms. Gore sings to Burts' pic? A lot DOES usually happen between source material and pressing. Bottom line, I can live WITHOUT the "in color" bumpers if that results in all 120 episodes being UNEDITED! And YES, we want the "next week" teasers from seasons 1 and 2! Yes, I'm aware it's a complete series set, but we WANT little goodies like that! All we ask is that now you're making it happen, don't do it like an Ed Wood movie, do it right... :-)

From what I understand, the Gore footage has been replaced with a digitally enhanced version of Justin Bieber dressed as Kit kat and you won't be able to tell the difference. I think he sings "Tippy Toe and Go Go" but don't quote me. ;)

To be honest, I stopped being a fan of his since I saw that still of him standing on the Black hawks logo in their locker room. Sorry LA bat fans, not your night. Go Hawks!
