Springweave Find!!!
I found a tube of red fabric in my grandmothers attic. It looks a lot like springweave to me.
Is their anyone who could verify this? If it is, is it the dyeable kind? Here is a close up. Thank you.

Re: Stringweave Find!!!
It certainly looks like springweave fabric.
It's impossible to say if it is the dyeable type by look or feel.
If the roll has no info, just throw a tiny piece in a pot of hot water with RIT dye and see what happens after it gets rinsed.
If it stays that color it is, if it all washes down the drain, it's poly or acrylic.

Re: Springweave Find!!!
Unfortunately, I will not be making robin trunks because I know springweave is rare, and I will quickly grow out of them (I'm only 13), but I will try to find out if it is cotton springweave.
Re: Springweave Find!!!
If it is cotton and there's enough material, you could dye it to see how it looks/holds and save it for later when you feel like it would be time to make trunks out of them.

Sorry for the wait. Does anyone know the Rit dye color mixture for robin's trunks? Thanks.

Re: Springweave Find!!!
At this stage you just want to find out if the fabric can take a dye or if the red can be stripped out.
Take a small piece of it and put it in a pot on the stove with some RIT color remover. The red has to go if there is any hope of getting a green color on the fabric eventually.
There is no formula for the color.
