i'm thinking of starting to collect some Batman 1966 merchandise at the moment all I have is the tv series on blu ray I have the official Batman batbook I also have the movie on blu ray and I have a book that was published in August 1966 called Batman Vs The 3 Villians of doom and I have Batman 66 Vols 1-3 and the green hornet graphic novel and I have some issues of the Batman 66 comic book. and I have a hot wheels Batmobile (not the one you get in the limited edition blu ray set).
does anyone have any ideas on what else to collect?

I guess I would divide it into vintage and new, then actual TV related or 60's era. I see you have a mix of Vintage and Modern. The Batman Volumes 1-3 are 60's era reprints of 50's or earlier comics. I sold mine because they weren't show related. The 3 Villains of Doom are essentially a Movie adaptation with some differences.

THREE VILLAINS OF DOOM is actually totally original, Lou. The adaption is the paperback Batman Vs the Fearsome Foursome.

I would definitely grab a Mattel Batman Cowl-- and if you can go for it-- one of Chuck's.

I have collected so many vintage items over the years, but when they announced the Hot Toys 1:6th scale Batman & Robin figures, I had to own the pair....and am ecstatic with them. They are a little pricey, but I think the quality is worth the $.....

You are right, I was picturing the cover. I scanned it once, but never read it. Truly a case of don't judge a book by its cover.

And I left off Andy's great ultra limited edition prints, particularly the collage for each season, including a fantasy fourth season.
You can get other ideas from the DVD special collectors disks.

Re: collecting Batman 1966 merchandise
Yeah, I must agree. Aside from Chuck's cowl (and bust), I think the Hot Toys figures would likely form the centrepiece to any '66 collection (aside from original vintage materials). In all honesty, I feel the tidal wave of '66 merchandise these past 2 years has almost obscured how incredibly definitive they are.Dynamic Duo wrote:I have collected so many vintage items over the years, but when they announced the Hot Toys 1:6th scale Batman & Robin figures, I had to own the pair....and am ecstatic with them. Now, about that Hot Toys '66 Batmobile...
Re: collecting Batman 1966 merchandise
Thanks for the kind words Lou, those prints are indeed limited as I don't even have them.
If space is not an issue-- the 18" Neca Batman (and Robin if you're a completist) is a must have.

The NECA 1966 Batman is a great addition to a 1966 Bat-collection, although the 1989 NECA Batman might disagree!

For the life of me, I still can't understand why NECA had to put that God awful "man-boob" torso joint on Adam. It's the only 1/4 figure they've done that with and it's the only thing keeping me from buying it. It ruins the entire figure.
Re: collecting Batman 1966 merchandise
I have the Hot Toys Adam West Batman. Love it!! Still waiting to get my Burt Ward Robin. Quality and detail looks amazing!
