So I've had these awesome Hot Toys Batman & Robin figures for awhile now, in cheap hobby store plastic "doll" displays. Although I'm happy they are on display, there's just something about this that doesn't seem right. These figures are like royalty to me
So I've decided to make a shadowbox / display on a budget.
The design I came up with is going to mimic the show's end credits (the cityscape silhouette with the bat signal).
We'll see how it goes....

I have a suggestion regarding the B&R figures you show here.
Why not put them both in one case, if you can, with a (in the Batcave) Batpoles backdrop? That way you could make those support rods look like the Batpoles, maybe add to the platform they're standing on to look more like the landing base and continue the illusion of the Batpoles up behind them.

That's really freaky as that was my first thought No joke!
I'm going to have a "cut-out" in the face of the building silhouette for the current hobby store "doll" cases.
But that cut-out may turn into more of what you're talking about. I just don't know if it's going to look to crazy incorporating something as simple as that end credits skyline with something more detail within it. But then again it might be the coolest thing ever We'll see. Thanks for the suggestion!!
There's another member on the board that did a fantastic display with a batpole and cave walls. I think he even made a bat-computer to scale from scratch!!
I recreated the end credits silhouette and bat signal in AutoCAD. I then programmed everything to run on our CNC at work. The material is 1/4" thick MDF. I had to cheat the size of the lamp-post so my 1/8" diameter router bit could get in there and cut out the details. It's extremely fragile!
I also created sides of the box that mimic the skyline.
I've since come up with a better solution for the bat signal than what is pictured.

I've been kicking around building a Batcave for the Mattel 6" line.
There are so many talented members here on this Forum, I've really been inspired by what I've been seeing.
I really don't foresee Mattel making one. And if they did, It might not be up to some of our standards.

That 6" line is probably the most viable. I have a spreadsheet with scales for the atomic pile, including the 1/12 figures, but no way to post it (pictures only). pm me and I'll send it your way. I think STP is right on track with his although I lost track of the scale of his build.
