A new idea for action figure

Post by Larry A. »

Greetings to One and All,
My Best Friend/Spouse, Jaqui, was idly looking over these forums with me and She was shocked at the prices people are willing to pay for things like action figures ( or as She call them "Dolls"). She is pleased to see all the folks doing "Bat Crafts" and suggested that I suggest that You all might be interested if You can't afford some of the expensive ones, one might try making their own. I'm darned tempted to make a few of my own. There are plenty of "realistic" doll pattern books out there. I used to make and sell dolls to folks at the different festivals We used to go to. And this is not Your usual "Commercial" type soft sculpture dolls.
Now I am NOT offering to make or sell any....not yet, as I've got far too many other projects.
I will toss out for those interested, some tips. One: try to find good photographs of the person(s) You wish to make a figure of. A very Great pictue to start from for me is Jesse's MAGNIFICENT illio of Yvonne's Bat Girl.
Jess has her proportions PERFECT!!!!! Try to find photos from all angles. Same goes for colors.
Finally find a pattern for a doll that will do what You would like of it.
I hope this helps,
Cheers, :D
Larry
