Well I have made some more progress on the project but nothing worthy of a photo just yet.
Mainly working on the two electrical panels on the sides of the second level catwalk.
Man the hardest parts to make were the knife switches I hope they will look ok not 100% accurate but those things are hard to make. I will explain the stages I took to make them in next weeks update and I hope to have one of the panels ready for installation.
I could not finish the railings this week as I ran out of tube styrene and had to order more.

Until next week

Well not a lot of progress this week those electrical panels on the second catwalks are proving to be a challenge to make! But here is where I am at with this part of the project.

Here you see I have the left side electrical panel built and painted I have started adding elements to it and taking photos in between. Here I have what I am calling the conduit panels attached.

And here the gauges I made weeks ago finally get attached.

Here the knife switches are attached these were by far the hardest parts to make they are not 100% accurate but they will serve the purpose.

Image

I still have the lights under the knife switches that I am going to simulate with colored vinyl or plastic tape.
At one time I was going to use lights but I changed my mind.
I have the other side panel started and am in the progress of making elements to put on that panel.
Then I will need to attach them to the AP and then run the plumbing I have thought long and hard on how to do that I have a plan and I hope it works. I am however having to invent what the places where there was never a photo taken looks like hopefully it will work out. Once that part is done and some tidying up the main part of the AP will be finished and I can get back to the finishing the lower half.

Until next week

Guys I really don't have anything to post this week although I have made some progress on the electrical panels.
These are really hard to make and I hope they turn out ok should be able to get the left hand side electrical panel mounted next week.

I appreciate all the views a comment now and then would be nice.
Thanks to all the ones that do leave comments it keeps me going and I need it as some days I am about ready to throw in the towel! Then I see a comment and it makes me want to continue.

Charles I'm so envious of your talent for building this. I've done some model building but have no skill when it comes to scratch-building parts. I'm looking forward to more photos.

Time for a small progress update I have not gotten much done due to dentist office visits and doctor visits lately. I finally have one of the electrical panels installed as shown below.

Here you see the backside of the electrical panel installed complete with plumbing which I might add was a pain to do and I am still not happy with the results but it will have to do.

Here are some more views of the panel installed.

The plumbing is just my interpretation of what it should be since we have no known pictures of that area I just had to guess.

Well guys that's it for this update sorry for making you wait so long it could not be helped.

Until next time

Charles.

It looks awesome, your being to critical on yourself. I know I wouldn"t have the patience to do what your
doing...and I do everything in Photoshop. Your creating a 3-D piece of art to scale...BRAVO. Push on...
When it is finished nobody will notice the small imperfections but yourself, because the entire structure will so overpowering.

Keep it up Citizen!

I'm just giddy looking at the progress. I'll probably lose my mind when the final result is finally unveiled.
