We've worked with them in the past and have had very good experiences, but if you read through this entire post you see the potential problems-- early prototypes posted look great (Joker and Egghead, Batman and Robin boots and gloves), then announcements of still more licenses, the actual figures being created for those other lines are nowhere near the quality-- the Evil Knievel figure is abysmal, the Dallas figure (Dallas as a toy line??) is equally bad. Boss Hogg is as tall and thin as the Dukes-- all over the place here.

Then the troubles with the WWF or WWE or WWwhatever which I agree is their bread and butter.

I think it was brilliant to actually re-use the Mego molds-- something Mattel should have thought to do rather than retool everything. By re-using you not only get the nostalgic old fans to buy but you will appeal to the young market too. That plus the fact that the quality just wasn't there-- a kid couldn't play with these new figures for more than an hour without it falling apart-- we used to tie our Mego's to balloons and then watch them fall to earth and try to find them and they'd be good to go for another adventure.

Sometimes when you have access to too many licenses you spread yourself too thin, and that might be what's happened here.

So I opened the very large shipping box and pulled the plastic off the case. And the edge where the case closes was split at the seem. Bummer, back it goes.

This is a brief glimpse inside. Figures on top, accessories on bottom. the case is 13" x 21.5" x 4"

Looks very sturdy overall except to the lid. The shipping box shoes no damage, so its a shock issue - the bend in the lid is too severe and the material too brittle to take the shipping with the minimal packing (bubble packing may have protected it more.

Overall I like it and buy another one - plenty of room for the MEGO or 6" Mattel line (after you break open the packaging. I'll be you could make a custom insert representing the batcave with the Mattel figures strategically positioned. There's a photoshop picture in one of the threads that would make a great backdrop.

Well, I just received my first order from Figures Toy Company: with loose Aqualad, Wondergirl, Speedy and "First Appearance" Robin action figures (much cheaper than in their sealed clamshells - I'm an opener anyway), plus a domed Batphone (Commissioner's office version), a Bat Shield and feature film bomb. The combined priority airmail postage to Australia, for all these items, was only $65, so I was ecstatic!

I guess your mistake was only requiring the one item.

I'm getting a kick out of the sheer number of 66 Batrelated items they're producing. I'm only hoping that they continue. I do agree Andy, that too many licenses can spell doom for a company. I think a down sizing is in order, if only to ensure that the 66 line continues to grow. Sorry Dallas fans or Duke fans. In this business, it is survival of the fittest.

absolutely love this line, the number of unique characters is great. Looks to be running out of gas, but it was fun. Guessing there my only be one more wave left with Catwoman being the sore spot and the unproducable Gordon and Aunt Harriet.

The "Villains Variants" set and the Toycade exclusive Barbara Gordon wedding dress should be hitting retailers this coming week. FTC has them in stock on the site.

I've kept up with this line so far aside from a few variants (Batman for Mayor / Heroes in Peril) and generally have been pleased. Unfortunately FTC's female bodies are quite lacking - they appear to be stung too tight and hunch over. And the Batgirl was a trainwreck. I'm pretty lenient about things but it was pretty bad.

Why are Gordon and Aunt Harriet unproducable? They still have not attained the rights?

I'm really curious to see what they do with the next wave. Aside from the 2 Catwomen they have coming, I have no idea what is planed. I would not mind seeing a John Astin Riddler and some random henchmen before the line ends though.

If FTC goes ahead with "The Addams Family", there may be a more official Astin Riddler head and a Marsha Queen of Diamonds head sculpt for customizers! ;)

Yeah, I'm expecting there may only be one more wave, but I was thinking maybe Eartha and Julie Catwomen, plus two redressed figures (maybe Alfred in removable bat cowl, and Jockey Penguin would be hilarious!)

Alfred in Batman disguise is inevitable.

Has there been talk of an Addams Family line? I'm slowly moving away from collecting 8-inch figures as a whole and in to 12 inch figures, but an Addams line would keep me interested.

somebody mentioned the Addams line here, but no official announcement from FTC and nothing at all about it at Mego Museum, where word usually gets out first. It would provide a Lurch for a window cameo, too.

I'm not sure where I read it, but a few weeks ago a message board I was visiting mentioned that they'd heard such a line was being considered. Fingers crossed. (Maybe just wishful thinking?) Yeah, Ted Cassidy's Lurch would be great to make a "Star Trek" Ruk the Android, too.

They've shown the prototypes for that line and they look good. No Bandit was shown tho or villains. Dr. Tzin is a must.

Mattel had the $ and chance to make a great line. What a debacle.
