Batman:Facts and Stats from the Classic TV Show book

Post by Batman42 »

hi everyone
here is a review of the Batman Facts And Stats From The Classic TV Show. It is a book that you can dip in and out of. The book is divided into two sections the first section is all about the good guys and the gadgets that Batman And Robin use. Also there are sections on the batmobile, the batcave and wayne manor. The book also tells you how many batclimbs there were throughout the series and in the movie. The second section of the book concentrates on the villians that were seen in the series and you find out about what gadgets they have and reveals the lairs that the villians had. Also the way the book is designed is in the style of an episode with the title sequence at the begining and when you have the narrator encouraging you to watch the next episode and then at the end of the book it has the title sequence from the third season when Batgirl was introduced. Overall i love this book. It's a very colourful book and useful. it is well worth the money every batfan should purchase it.

Thanks for the review and letting us know more about the contents.
I am just trying to work out how this new book compares to my well-read (and well-worn) old Batbook by Joel Eisner. It contains many facts and figures on the gadgets, vehicles, etc.
Not sure if the new book could offer a lot more info....

I'm going to guess there's not much in there that those of us who waste too much brain space knowing this stuff have already filled our craniums with so it'll all come down to the photos and the design for me. For those of us here in the states it's currently on Amazon for about half it's retail price so I'm going to give it a shot.

I think the best "book" on the show was the magazine the Fangoria people put out ten or so years ago-- THAT was loaded with trivia I wasn't familiar with and some really great photos full of color, which is the only way to present this show.

HI Andy,

What book/magazine are you talking about that Fangoria put out? I don't think I remember it.

CINEFANTASTIQUE special issue-- it covered the animated series, the Burton films and the '66 show.
There's also a variant cover which shows several Batmen on it in a painted style-- same insides.

There was also this one-- which was LOADED with behind the scenes stuff and featured Wally's photo shoot of Adam making his last appearance in the costume.

I was familiar with Cinefantastique, but I don't think I've seen the Adam West Remembers Batman, so thanks for the heads-up guys. It looks like it may have come out during my college/paying off the loan years, when I couldn't get a lot of Batman stuff...so I tried not to look at any to remove the temptation.

Cinefantastique wasn't Starlog/Fangoria, it was (originally) Fredrick Clarke.

Here's a review with pictures. The book may not be highly analytical, but the design is a feast for the eyes.

Its just under 10 bucks on amazon. Is it worth buying? Should fans just wait for the anniversary book?

It is enjoyable. Worth it IMO.
Lots of pics, may be screen grabs, but some stuff I have never seen in print.
