Hi, I acquired this Fossil Batman Stone Watch in a thrift store. Do not know much about it, the front is made of stone and the back is made of copper. It has patina on the back. Did not clean it because it gives it a antique look.

I love the one sheet for the '66 movie. I love Christopher's work, it has a life and an energy that a lot of the other uber realism artists don't have.

Now this one.... somebody has some 'splainin' to do....

There is clearly a swipe going on here.
The Batman and Robin figures are virtually identical-- I have way too much respect for Christopher to imagine he is doing anything other than an homage but which one came first? I actually like Christopher's take better, the wrinkles on the tights, the expressions, I just find it better than the DVD art-- which is very solid in an of itself.

But regardless, somebody swiped somebody here.

EDIT: Okay I've got Egg on my face here-- did Christopher do the DVD art in the first place? Someone refresh my memory--didn't that artist post here back in October saying Warners had tweaked their art to their dislike? I've had a long day fellas, crazy deadline-- cut me some slack!

Last May, I helped my parents move out of their home of 30 years. Saved these from a closet, and pulled them out again for the holiday. I discovered messages on the backs of two cards from my late grandmother. Evidently, they were unused cards from my father's childhood that were stashed away and presented to my brother and me on Valentine's Day in the mid-80s.

Holy keepsake!

Andy, Christopher Franchi was the artist for Return of the Caped Crusaders, and yes, he was upset because his original artwork was tweaked.
We thought we'd have to teach our son about the world. Turns out we have to teach the world about our son. They see a boy who cannot speak. We see a miracle who doesn't need words.

shorebird wrote: Thu Feb 09, 2017 8:15 pm Hello all! I'm new here, this is my 1st post. My latest acquisition was the Hot Wheels Elite 66 Batcycle. My passion though is the George Barris 66 Batmobile. I have most all of them except the Hot Wheels Redline car and the Hot Wheels Elite 1/18 scale with the Batman and Robin figures. I have the one without the figures I acquired back when they first came out. I'm glad to have found a place were there are others which the 60's TV show was such a big part of thier childhood as it was mine. I fell in love with the Batmobile! When Hot Wheels started to make the die cast back in 2007 it was a very happy time for me. Until then the only Batmobile I had was the Corgi I had as a kid.

I have a question for you all. The bases on most of the 1/18 scale models looks to be right for a acrylic showcase but I have yet to find one. I purchased one for my batcycle but although nice for the price I'm hoping there is something better. Has anyone found one that fits the base of the Batmobile models? Or do you maybe know of any that work well with them?
There was a guy on eBay that had a great display, but he's either stopped making them or got out of the business

Certainly a must have item IMO, but always curious as to why it's not labeled as "The 1966 Batmobile Batphone." Afterall, we fans know it's not JUST the Batphone ;)

My wife ordered the Shakespeare bank - but that's not shipping yet right? Nice to see the mobile batphone is out. Only 2 heros had carphones in the 1960s - Batman and Mannix
