Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair
Just received shipping confirmation from Toy Wiz today. Should have it in hand soon. Glad I ordered it when I did - they DID have it on sale, and I had a discount code, too - now it's back up to full price.
I have looked forward to having this for a long time. Finally, there is an end in sight!

Well, it arrived today. Met with a mix of glee and disappointment.
Pros:
It is finally here!
Thick casting. Surprisingly heavy.
Neck hinge seems quite sturdy.
Paint finish is nice, contrast airbrushing is pretty well executed.
Cons:
Is it really 1:1 with the screen used? It seems small. I'm not sure Chris Pappas' dial and switch will fit.
As I have mentioned before, the sculpt, while recognizable, is far from screen accurate.
Biggest con = poor quality control. On my casting, the right cheek is dented in, and the chest is bowed into itself, resulting in his head sort of looking down. I suspect this will happen with a lot of them - the vinyl isn't quite stiff enough to prevent the weight of the head from collapsing his chest a bit. This is a problem that MAY get worse, because, well, gravity.
But Toy Wiz's return policies are bad, so it will cost me MORE to exchange than if I ordered one at full price. So I'm guessing I'll just keep it.
Let's see how many pix I can post...

More pix.
You can see how different the color looks in different lighting!

Is the white thing a button to open the bank?
Totally bummed about the vinyl collapsing, may pass on this now, or at least wait until they hit clearance bins.
Thanks for the pix & review, triple R.

Corrective note- the good news is your right cheek isn't dented, it's supposed to be that way- I just looked over my WB bust (which has a "dimple" on the right cheek) and it looks like they copied that instead of the original from the show.

Not according to the product photos the manufacturer has posted online. Ditto the collapsed chest - they are anomalies.
No, the white "button" is merely cosmetic. The bank has a twist open cover on the bottom.
BTW, the base and the top part of the bank are completely different materials - the top is vinyl, but the column is some rigid plastic.

The WB bust is approx. 20.5" high by 12" wide.

Mine also has the right cheek dent. And I am currently learning the hard way about TOY WIZ's horrible return policy. They are now permanently on my never again list!!!

Well, there you can see - no cheek indent. It is obviously a quality control issue. A.P., yours looks super!

It only arrived this week, at any specialist comic shop which orders from the Diamond Orderpak.
I have a standing order at Kings Comics, Sydney.
