Commissions count, too- that's an extra $420 GRAND (almost half a mil) out of the winners pocket.

Really thought the foreign market would step in (much) higher, but hey, good for Arizona! :)

The hammer price was 4.2 and is what is normally reported in auction results.

Tell that to Rick Champagne's accountant! The last coin out of pocket is reality, no matter what the media blathers on about.

Chill on the semantics and exclamation points (put the coffee down ;) ). Yes, it hits Champagne's bank account but there's nothing in error for reporting just the bidding (hammer) price.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with stating the hammer price, just pointing out final costs (which at nearly 1/2 mil interests me greatly) and the fact that it most likely matters to Champagne. Nothing malicious implied in either of my replies, just engaging in a little simple Interwebz conversation.

The exclamation point on the end of the "accountant" sentence was supposed to convey humor (emoticons get old, IMO, and though punctuation may be old fashion it's still useful).

To paraphrase Mr. West- No coffee here, just pure SVL... (insert your fave method of implying humor HERE)

I don't understand! Does this mean the car wont be shown anymore?
It won't appear at car shows?
