Wow, great costumes. And the little girl's expression shows she appreciates them too.

Out of curiosity, what did you use for the body suit, and can you tell us about the boots and cowl?

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! We got quite a bit of attention at this small convention. Here's another picture of the two of us.

The body suit is made from a two-way stretch purple lame' fabric that I purchased from spandexworld.com. It was something like $20/yard so pretty pricey. My wife made the suit for her. The cowl I obtained from Greg at GVM Designs. It is quite delicate, and I'm not sure it's going to hold up to repeated wear, but it looks accurate. The boots were purchased from a thrift store for about $10 and painted with Amethyst leather paint by Leather Studio obtained at Michael's. Hope that helps if anyone else is working on a Batgirl suit.

Curious as to what materials you used for the chest emblem, the belt buckle itself, and the pouches on the utility belt. Can you show a close up of each?

I found a fishscale belt ... attempt to get a metal buckle made by a buckle was fruitless without getting a release from the studio (didn’t even try) ... can’t seem to find a faux leather or vinyl that would be suitable.

With thanks ... Darren

I will post a closeup of the belt when I get a minute. The buckle is acrylic. I commissioned it from a guy that works in acrylic. I sent him a file based on a photo of the actual buckle that I traced in Adobe Illustrator. The image in this thread looks very similar. We used Velcro to attach the buckle to the belt which is fastened using the original hardware. The belt itself is a gold fishscale belt from the 80s that I bought online.

I'll try and post a couple of pictures for you.

The pouches are made from yellow leather that was glued and stapled to wooden blocks. They are not functional. The "snaps" are googly eyes I picked up in a craft store and painted yellow. The pattern I used was the one I posted in this thread but resized slightly.

The chest emblem was printed on an inkjet printer on to self-adhesive vinyl. I want to get something of higher quality but couldn't find anything I could just buy.

Here is a closeup photo of the buckle and pouch for anyone that's interested. The "buckle" is laser-cut acrylic. The pouch is made from yellow leather. The front was spray-painted to hide some of the gaps.
