A bit off topic, but it is.

You are obviously a professional, or a very skilled hobbyist. Everything looks great.

OK here's some more pics! I finished the cape. I decided to hem the cape without zig zag stitching. (I know it's not authentic). I also didn't tack the inside seam allowances together, hopefully it will still be ok. Thoughts?

Here's the belt so far, my hubby is making that. He used leather stretched over wood blocks, a la Chuck's instructions and pattern. He welded the tubes.

It all looks great! Look forward to seeing the final product.

Tacking the inside seam allowances is to keep the layers from shifting. And you may find that over time, the satin will stretch/sag unevenly, just from its own weight, making odd bulges. But you can always go back and do some tacks after the fact.

Just one word of caution about the belt boxes - be really careful with the exposed screw heads. They'll be rubbing up against satin and spandex, which both snag/abrade really easily. I recommend covering or sanding the screw heads to make sure they're as unlikely to snag anything as possible. My belt tubes have elastic loops screwed to the backs, and I took the lazy way out and covered the screw heads with a dollop of hot glue.

There's even more great progress every time I poke my head into this thread!

I'm also diggin' the heck out of the fact that you're going full-Hardeman on the belt!

Thanks RRR! We will definately line the utility belt with something so it doesn't snag the outfit. I may go back and tack inside if/when it sags, going through the center back lining. :)

For the buckle, Rob used Chuck's pattern and dremeled the shapes, crafted the inside buckle parts and welded them on. Then used rivets with washers to attach onto the leather belt.
For the boots, we used ladies leather boots, cut them off at the ankle, re-hemmed the tops, re-glued the top edges inside with contact cement to flatten the seam. Rob will attach these to a pair of his own boots. Thoughts?
