R I P Chuck McCann
I didn't see a thread about it here, so I figured I'd start one. My buddy Chuck McCann passed away about a week ago from a heart attack at the age of 83. He was one of the greats of my field and there was hardly anything he didn't do.
Kid's show host, comic actor, entertainer, puppeteer, producer, writer, and voice actor. He did commercials (both as himself and Oliver Hardy), movies (Heart is a Lonely Hunter was his best), TV shows (Far Out Space Nuts, Boston Legal, and tons of guest shots), record albums (First Family) and more. There was hardly a field in entertainment that Chuck hadn't played in! He even co-created the famous Laurel and Hardy fan club called "Sons of the Desert."
He was a dear, dear friend for about 10 years, and I'll miss him terribly. Keep good thoughts for his widow Betty. They were married for 30 years.
I thought it would be funny that, when Chuck approaches the pearly gates, St. Peter says, "Hi guy!" (His famous catch phrase from his long-running Right Guard TV commercial campaign).

Many fond memories of watching Far Out Space Nuts as a kid ("I said 'Lunch', not 'Launch!'") and his Oliver Hardy was impeccable.
Sorry to hear of his passing, and Wally, sorry for your loss.

Wally,
Very sorry to hear this both in that he was such a friend of yours and that he made such an impression on us whether stealing the Right Guard in all those commercials (loved always hearing that "Hi Guy! and "Monaaa.."), watching him with Bob Denver on Saturday mornings in Far Out Space Nuts or hearing him as the Mummy on Drak Pack. I even really enjoyed him on Boston Legal as the judge tolerating that misfit lawyer gang.
This one truly hurts.
With sympathy to all his family, friends, and fellow fans.

"Hmmm... I don't like the twist this joke is taking. Let us away! Let us away!"

Robin: "Gee, Wally. Is there anybody you DON'T know?"
Wally (smiling): "Yes, Robin. Several people in fact."
My sympathies to you and his family. Hang in there!

I was so sorry to hear the news, Wally.
I remember the first time you introduced me to Chuck and he did his classic "Clobbering Time", that was a fun dinner for sure.
