This could lead me to the treasure of pirate Captain Manx, himself!
Thanks to my eagle eyed friend Wes McCue , I just received the vintage cat statue that became the golden, jeweled treasure map of pirate Captain Manx, himself, from the first Catwoman episode! Thanks Wes!!!
The two quick "tells" that it is the same cat is an odd divot at the back of the head and that the right foot is taller than the left.
I'm sure they molded the cat to produce the cats on the show because this statue weighs a ton and the way they handled them on the show looked as if they were light weight...
I posted here because eventually this will be available...

Chuck, great find! Take real good care of it lest Mark Andrews finds out.

Amazing, how you guys keep making these awesome finds is beyond me! One question, do you plan to restore it (painting it gold, etc.) or keeping it as is?

Super cool! Also glad to hear Wes McCue is still up to some bat-tricks.

Although not one of the cats from the show it would look great painted gold. Or could you make casts and paint them gold?

Remarkable find from your friend, Chuck. Its almost next to impossible to find a 50+ year-old item like that. It really be at home in the Bat-exhibit.

Thanks guys!
Yep, it will be a tricky bugger to mold but there will be castings available.
I painted it gold to see how much clean up I would have to do and discovered another "tell" that I didn't see.
There is another dent in the back just above the hip and a small bump about that on the ribcage that are both apparent on the one use on the show.
The photo is the scene opening just before Julie enters for the first time.
This stuff still makes me geek out!
Thanks Wes!!!!

That shade of gold will be tricky. I bet the prop folks picked it up for a song back in the day, or took it from the Cleopatra set or similar Egyptian movie prop department. The fact that you found a black version suggests these were commercially available at the time.
What size is it. It looks like 14” to 16” tall.
For you archeologists, it is called a Bastet Statue. Good luck with your eBay searches....

HAHAHAHAHA!
Yep, it was just a sculpture inspired by the cats found in Egyptian tombs.
It's cast in plaster/stone and was just an objet d'art for your shelf.
I believe they molded one just like this and created the gold ones on the show only because the actual cat is heavy as Hell and the way they handled them on the show says they were very lightweight.
