• Die-cast body and rubber tires

I would love to see a review of this from someone here who has it in hand.

It looks good, Jada has been solid in terms of photos vs actual item, so I'd bet this is no exception. I've no need for a 1/18 car but I like the Batman figure that came with the 1/24 car.

I was convinced I didn't need another 66 Batmobile, but this thing is wearing down my resistance...

Somebody please post a scathing review before I spend again!

I ordered. The lights did it for me. Fairly reasonable with lighting.

Hmmmm. I didn't notice Lights and...sirens? Did the Batmobile have a siren? Or is there a Joan Collins mini figure in the trunk?

Is there a video somewhere showing the lights and sound?

Greatlakes6, here you go. There is no sound but I also think the flashing siren description is mistaken for the red flasher on the roll bar. The Batmobile had no siren that I know of - only the Bat-Parachute Emergency Pick-Up van (or whatever it was titled) did.

Yeah, they mean "beacon." We used to make the same mistake when I was a kid, calling the flashing lights on a police car the " siren".

The lights definitely make this. Not sure how I feel about a chrome steering wheel, and I always imagined more under the hood, but it's a very nice item for the money.

SprangFan, I feel your pain. I already own two Hot Wheels in this scale and keep trying to reel myself in before I end up on a future episode of Hoarding: Buried Alive.! I've managed to skip many Batmobile releases of the past few years because I am not a completest, but there are a lot of enticements here.

Looking at the video link (thank you, Yellow Oval ), the figures look nicer than in the pictures (especially Robin's hair line). I also like the open doors, hood, and trunk. The lights are a nice touch that I don't have in any of my Batmobiles. However, the creamsicle pinstriping (which might look darker in different lighting) and the stubby anti-theft rocket launchers take away from the aesthetics for me. Additionally, the scale is not truly 1:18 if the stated dimensions are to be believed, so it still would not look in proportion next to the 1:18 Black Beauty diecast. Not a deal breaker, but a consideration. I am by no means an expert on the car, and I realize that there hasn't been a "perfect" replica in any scale since the license became available. I just know what looks "right" to me.

The mulling continues.

Jada '66 Batmobiles have that orange day-glow hunter's vest color to the stripes. About the only negative I can complain about. Well, there is the fact that in their earlier issue Robin is holding the handset of the Batphone in his right hand while the phone in the car also has the handset on it. :-)

For the price, with lights, opening doors, hood, trunk, and figures, that's almost a no brainer for any of us fans here. I will definitely jump on this one!
