He was my favorite Blofeld.

Bruce Timm and company used Mr. Savalas as a model for Lex Luthor on Superman : The Animated Series. I thought Savalas would have made a great live-action Luthor.

I always thought that if there was a ‘60s or ‘70s Superman tv show, he would have made a great Lex Luthor!

I heard he was gonna do a cameo as Kojak in the movie , believe it or not (might be bogus rumor though)

I don't think it is bogus. I've heard interviews with either Tom Mankiewicz or Richard Donner (maybe both) where the referenced the scene versions of the script before they came on board as evidence of how campy the movie might have turned out if they weren't involved.
