Closing in on The Ultimate 1966 Bat Cowl!!!
Hi All,
Here's something I wish we had a few years ago.
A full sized print of an original cowl to make patterns from!!!
Lynne has just finished tweaking the patterns to fit the new shell that we produced using the scan data.
Moving forward we are only using the original Lastex fabric on the Ultimate 1966 Shell to produce a limited numbered edition. Limited by the amount of fabric we have...
The Cosplay Cowls will be covered in modern stretch satin fabric.
We hope to have exiting news about tights and boots in the near future too!
Stay tuned!!
Chuck...

Re: Closing in on The Ultimate 1966 Bat Cowl!!!
Starting to get exciting!!!
I noticed that the fabric coming off the back of the cowl is falling in the same way as the print.
It wants to swing to the right off the back which you can see if you follow the center seam.
The fabric is coming off the left side of the shell remarkably like the print...

A day in the life of Octave Marbot!!!
Here's a first look of the artist proof of the Ultimate 1966 Bat Cowl...
So grateful to "Alfred" for allowing Lynne and I the access to his cowl.

HAHAHA! I'll get the listing up asap on Etsy!!!
Here's one I edited for a more old fashioned color TV look.
I think seeing it in bright digital color throws off some folks.
It's on an unpainted bust but it's all I have at the moment.

Thanks Scott!!!
It's so weird to see these images on my computer...
It's like having a bunch of continuity shots from the show!
I threw a bit of foam in the ear hole to give that bump in the silhouette. It just sang!

What I love about this part of your journey is that I remember sitting on the phone with you over ten years ago before the Blu ray releases and this much hands on access. You would scrutinize bad VHS screen captures and whatever stills we could get our hands on. The best part is that you were already looking at the distortions and irregular shapes of the shell. You would comment how something "kicked to the right" or slope off in another way to where the fabric would sit on it in some odd way. You saw it, you knew it and now it's happening right in front of you organically. All of those little notes are having their boxes ticked off one by one like butter. So happy to see this happening and unfolding before you. Awesome!!

It's been a wild ride hasn't it Scott!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I was quoting you just today about enjoying the journey!
It's now at a stage where I can leave it because "it is what it is" as Lynne and I say, and I don't need to interpret the shapes of it anymore.
I'm just glad we still have the fabric to make use of the new shell.
It's weird because it's familiar and new at the same time. Still amazingly asymmetrical!!!
Can't wait to see it in pink now! LOL!!!
It will be in the shop shortly in a numbered edition...

This is out of this world. Watching your journey to this stage has been an absolute privilege.

If funds permit, this is a must for me.
Do you sell the Adam West bust as well?
You are doing absolutely incredible work!

You did, as usual, a more than amazing work Chuck! Congratulation to you an Lynne!!!
I love following your study of the bat-costumes! I follow the Journey since a while! So, I was wondering if you can show your cowl shell progression since your symetrical version without pattern up to this ultimate cowl shell with your pattern tweacked? I would love to read that!!!

Re: Closing in on The Ultimate 1966 Bat Cowl!!!
Thanks so much guys!!!
The changes happened quickly while we were working on filling orders so there was no fanfare or even a moment of silence!
I got a shot of Lynne's pattern table when she was working on it but that's about it.
I just enjoy finding new yet familiar angles and shapes on this darn thing!!
I mailed this first artist proof out to the client today so it's back to the shop to make more...Yes, I did call it "precious" at one point and I think Lynne got worried I wouldn't mail it out.. LOL!
The bust will be back in the shop soon.
