Has anybody seen a deal on this thing lately? It seems they're all shipping from Hong Kong at fell retail after shipping....

You can usually get deals during pre-orders-- the link I posted above had it for about $250 at the time, now that it's just hitting US shores it will likely stay at retail since it's all case fresh, from here depending on how they sell will determine if they end up in the markdown sections. I'm guessing not, since they have a low production run and a reputation for high quality-- but keep in mind the figures were going for $100 initially and now there is a seller on eBay offering them for $20 (or they were a few weeks ago).

So who knows. But check the big box sites; Amazon, Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, Forbidden Planet, etc

Note: Big Bad Toy has them for $310

Cool, thanks Andy.

It has some of the same appeal to me that the vintage Japanese stuff does.

Given the price though, I think I'm going to wait for a dented box deal....

Did you happen to see the re-theme pinball threads I linked to in the '66 batman pinball thread? You could really go to town on something like that.

Lotsa work and no money though.

Gang,
I got the herocross batmobile on Amazon for under $200 plus tax and shipping.
The body is metal, and it's a bluetooth speaker to boot
Also you receive a Batman figure ($100 value), so the Batmobile net is about $100.
I had the Batman and Robin figure, so I dropped them into my the car and on display in my cabinet.
It is well packaged

the bluetooth controls are in the trunk

I really like it and at 1/2 the original price, I'm OK with it. I have not played the bluetooth speaker, but that's not why I bought it.
Is it accurate - no, but it does have nice touches to it (antenna, working lights, batphone, etc)

I think it's really a neat item and the speaker is a nice plus-- if they'd done it in one of the tin colors (red, blue, etc) I would have probably jumped on it-- but I've got a few too many black Batmobiles.

Really easy to repaint - especially in blue... the Body comes right off For the price, it's "relatively" cheap considering you get Batman with it.

Almost tempted to dip my toes into the Herocross waters. I am familiar with the other DC characters and there's just something appealing about it.

That's a great idea, Lou, but I would have to add it to a huge pile of projects I'll never get to. Plus pin striping is hard!

I'd love to see it with the CTVT Mego style figures standing by it.

I’ve really warmed to this. There’s something really charming about the scale combined with the fact it lights up.

I’ll post pictures of FTC Batman next to and sitting in the car. This is significantly larger that a Mego Batmobile

A true 1/9 scale would be 25” long x 9.33” wide by just under 7” tall.

Wow-- it's bigger than what I remember at SDCC. That looks great with the FTC figs. Not a fan of the big head one.

does look way better than the kiddie car Mego gave Batman. there are rumblings that FTC is going to repurpose the repro one they make for the 66 line, along with the Batcycle.
