LOL!!! Yep, his name is on the piece just where you would expect it. In the small rectangle below.
I'm holding back on details just until I have this in my hands!

They altered the eyes a good bit as well. Very interesting.

Thanks Guys!!!

No, it's not a bust of Shakespeare at all.

Looking through a few million busts, I understand why this one appealed to them according to the script. The collar is open on this chap and which made for a perfect camouflage for the seam between the head and bust.

Yep, no one had ever seen the back! It was the main photo request I had when Scott got a chance to see it at auction!

Yep, the mustache and beard were added to it and the top was cropped to make his bald pate.
This is a photo I took and you can clearly see the line of demarcation of the added whiskers.

The curls on the side, triangular-ish highlights in the eyes , unusually large pupils and scored iris all match up...
Not a Shakespeare bust? Then how in the world did you find this? Mind BLOWN

Been looking for the exact Shakespeare bust forever now and with an added piece of info, the makers mark (won't divulge the makers names right now)" this was the closest I've come to find. (I blurred out his name in case that IS the bust so as not to spoil your reveal). They did make one but not like Bruce Wayne's! Never thought it was someone else and modified to look like Shakes!

Great find!! Can't wait to see the progress on this project!

I was shocked as well A.P. !

I thought they would have either used an existing bust or just made one from scratch.
Seeing the add ons and just how crude the modification was, changed my entire way of thinking.

They did soften the brows a bit but the majority of any difference between these is the fact that they made a "waste mold" and had one shot at the casting!
It's has air bubbles and pockets all over it.

The paint and highlights give it an entirely different look...

Thanks so much Guys!!! :D
The bust is being crated up as we speak and will be winging on it's way here early next week.

It's been an interesting rabbit hole due to the recasting of it along the way.
The image AP posted is indeed what it looks like but it is the recast version and almost 4 inches shorter than the original and the makers mark on the wrong side.
I was luck enough to get a couple of measurements off the original when it was up for auction and these have helped guide me though several that look right but are the smaller versions.

I am still holding back some info until it arrives but here is a side by side that shows just how similar it is in some ways but also just how much they changed...

The collar and curls on the side of the head are like fingerprints so I knew I had it when I compared them.
The Bard is beardless!!! He also had a lovely full head of hair!

Again, the recasts have filled in some of the deeper curls and helped me navigate to the original.

The Batphones have intrigued me since seeing them in blu-ray with all the visible fiberglass and air bubbles!
No plans as of yet but you never know!
I may have to rename my studio the 20th century prop dept.!

Leave it to Bruce Wayne to have a unique one-off Bust.

You see it here first!!!

My view from cloud 9!!!

It is the German poet, playwright, writer, historian and philosopher Friedrich Schiller.
He wrote "Ode to Joy".

But he plays Williams Shakespeare on TV.

This bust is 170 years old!!!

Slight size difference with the licensed bust...

It's the only one on the planet I was able to find.
DO NOT fall for the ones you may see on Ebay or in other galleries online.
They are ancient recasts and are several inches smaller than this one which corresponds exactly to the size of the one on the show. They also have altered details
