Got the blocks attached and found a fantastic filler for the center push button area.

One wrinkle is that I can't use Bondo for the extended base.

This predates the modern phone cases and the plastic is damaged by the solvent in it.

I'll have to use clay and then bodyshop the casting...

Perfect! It's like the ascent of man.

I was talking with Scott and the original red button completely took me by surprise! Forgot all about it.

The raised circle is an air bubble trap waiting to happen so I'm glad they went to a raised flat area.

I just can't wait to cast one up in that translucent red pigment.
It looks so "prop like"!

I wonder if they had only 1 prop phone in the first episode and moved it between sets.

more reference screen grab photos, probably 3rd season, again looking worn out, a bit of separation in that center section.

Interesting!
Makes me wonder if the retrofit that center circle over the former raised open circle...

The more I see this the more happy I am with the base phone I have...

So I got curious and took a piece of red WW fabric and stuck it inside a shell I had here and put them both on top of a photoflood lamp...
Can't wait to see what the translucent red resin pigment will look like but this shows show accurate fiberglass strands!

Well I did a test and I can use Bondo after all. Saves me a step!

After seeing it like this , I think this will be a nice tall boy Commissioner Gordon phone height.
I was thinking it may have been a bit short but now, I'm not so sure.

My thought was to go high and cut them down to the client desired height.
