Hey Keith
Complete fantasy piece I did a few years ago.
I’m heavily into the old Spook Shows and in the early 40s Bela Lugosi was doing personal appearances on stage— I imagined a show where the two Batmen meet— and Lewis Wilson joins the live act.
The vs Frankenstein thing was a big part of those old Spook Shows, so having Batman take him on seemed a natural.
For The Joker I used Lon Chaney (sr) as the model and Catwoman is Hedy Lemarr. Realistically, of course, Chaney was no longer with us in 1944 so I would have tried to get Karloff as the Clown Prince of Crime.
It was a fun piece, it’s completely fake— and they are screen prints. I did them in Blue, Green and I think Orange.

Andy, inspired work as always...visually, how would Raymond Massey work as the Joker? I think that his leering grin from such roles as he played in "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "Arsenic and Old Lace" would translate well to the Joker's trademark rictus.

I think he would have been a perfect pick-- he was too big a star to do personal appearances, but then again so was Hedy Lemarr, although I guess technically I didn't list any villain appearances at the show so Massey would have been a great pick.
I'll post the new 2020 version when I have it ready.
