This is the same size as the Shakespeare used on the show and is basically the same as the mini-bust.

Back to the bust! I got distracted by a phone calling!

So I had to do some research to know what I could coat the porous bisque porcelain with to keep the silicone mold rubber from grabbing but could be removed so it retains it's beautiful finish . I hope I got it right!

To make the temporary mold easier to cast into, I separated the bust from the base.

Say hello to a 170 year old brass nut and bolt!!!
It's kept this securely together for almost two centuries..

To be continued...

WOW! I can 't believe you did that. :o
Totally understandable though, Wow, 170 years, what a constitution you have.
Funny how nuts and bolts haven't changed over 170 years  someone had a good idea.
Looks great Chuck.

Every step along the way is taken with the care and safety of the original in mind.
That is why I am making a copy of it to modify rather than dig in on the original which is what I think they did to create the Wayne Manor bust.

Absolutely Wally!!!

I just wanted to share a photo of the worst lockdown haircut on the planet!! LOL!

I'm still tweaking but it looked so funny I wanted to post.

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to our fearless Leader Scott. Without his fantastic photos of the bust he took at the auction, it would be 10 times more difficult to do this. Thanks Boss!!

It's amazing what a little facial hair can do!!! The first pass with Magic Sculpt. I'll tool it more when it sets. Slowly starting to look like an old friend!!! When I saw the bust in person, I was surprised just how good the piece actually looked. It was the first time I even thought about making one. The classical bones of this piece shine through the brutal editing.
