AUNT HARRIET'S BACKSTORY

Post by Jimmy L. 66 »

We briefly discussed where and how Mrs Cooper came into Bruce and Dick's world.

Here are the entries I was desperately trying to remember.
Dozier-verse History happens to mention the episode we watched today, "The 13th Hat".

and the comics history mentions her husband, as I was trying to relay.

This week on Begorrah.

Batman and Robin, Chief O’Hara and Commissioner Gordon are in the Commissioner’s office discussing the recent drop in crime.

Commissioner Gordon proudly states, “The Joker, Penguin and Riddler are all locked away and many months away from parole.”

Batman adds, “And with Catwoman about to be sentenced we shouldn’t see her on the streets of Gotham City for a long time.”

The Commissioner turns to the Chief, “Oh, and good job Chief on personally escorting Catwoman to her court appearances over the past three months.”

“My pleasure Commissioner… er, I mean, me men do a fine job with yer average criminal, but that wily kitty needs me personal hands on approach. We wouldn’t want her ter get off on a technicality.”

Robin quickly replies, “Gosh No!”

Batman cocks his head, “You took Catwoman to all her court appearances the last time we caught her, didn’t you Chief?”

“That’s right Batman. I had to juggle her court appearances with taking Mary to the baby doctor. Born nine months after Catwoman was arrested and booked, she was.”

Batman asks non-nonchalantly, “And how is your daughter?”

“Me little Catarina is doing great Batman! Thanks for asking! I’ll tell Mary you asked; she’ll be thrilled. Oh, that reminds me, I need the afternoon off to take Mary to the doctor.”

Batman spins to face the Chief, “Nothing serious I hope Chief O’Hara?”

“No, no Batman.” The Chief blushes slightly, “She is in the family way.”

The Commissioner looks shocked, “Again?!?” He lowers his eyes and plays with some papers on his desk, “Three months along I suppose?”

“Why yes, well, that was a lucky guess sir.”

The Commissioner replies “Not really.” He clears his throat and quickly adds, “My regards to Mary and I hope all goes well at the doctor”, as he suppresses a sly smile.

Batman keeps a straight face as he too wishes Mary well.

Meanwhile Robin is doing the math in his head, ‘Catwoman arrested… nine months.. baby Catarina..’ The camera zooms in on Robin as he smashes his fist into his other hand, “BEGORRAH!”

Later that same night on the latest episode of Mercy Me

Alfred delivers an envelope to Aunt Harriet on a silver platter.

Aunt Harriet opens the envelope and spouts, “Mercy Me! Mary O’Hara is having another baby shower.”

She drops the baby shower announcement on the table and exclaims, “Well, I shouldn’t be surprised, Catwoman was arrested a few months ago!” She glares at Bruce, Dick and Alfred as she exclaims, “MEN!”

Alfred seizes an opportunity to escape the room, “I’ll make you a nice cup of tea to calm you madam.”

Aunt Harriet sneaks her hand between the couch cushions searching for something, “That is exactly what I need Alfred!”

Dick rolls his eyes as he stands up, “I’ll go get the hair dryer.” He adds under his breath, “Glug. Glug. Glug|.”
