Spider-Man 1967 custom Mego

Post by Lou Szabo »

I started working on a Custom Mego/FTC hybrid of the 1967 Animated Spider-Man TVShow figure.

The key is the costume, no webbing on the chest. That is on order from a customizer. Next up, finding a Spider-Man body. What is going on here. I sold off my Mego stuff in 2019, and now the prices are over the moon. Fortunately, FTC has a Great body, and Red hands. I ordered the superhero body.

That means I still need a head. There a Mego place in NJ that makes custom heads including the 67 Animated Spider-Man, the 70’s Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man and the Japanese Spider-Man.

Lastly Anthony Durso is coming through with another Fantastic custom box. I’ll post pictures as parts arrive.

Looks great! Megos are my favorite all time toys. Love the box art. Costume is bright too. Very cool.

That blue suit needs a yellow vest for the right Peter Parker look!

I just Spoke with “Mego” and they are producing both Spidey and Peter Parker from this TV show. They also have the 70’s Amazing Spidey and his amazing friends in the works, as well as Zorro, Barnabas Collins, and the Werewolf of Dark Shadows

Of course, Wes is the man!
I plan to use a fine sharpie marker around the red hands.

I got my 67 spidey head today, but no time to play for the next couple of weeks.
It is a gray color and pretty hard (3D print). Now I have to learn how to paint one of those.

I found some additional boxes

And for Peter Parker 67, Anthony doesn't make a Peter Parker box, so I may use this one:

My next project after this is in "the Amazing Spider-Man" issue 130

The costume is shipping today.

I received some Spider-Mobile base vehicles for this scale figure. I bet many of you had this as a kid. I know I bought the yellow one for my brother back then, say 1972, and it was big.

For reference, it looks like the Spider-Mobile is NOT based on the Meyer’s Manx, we all agree?

The recent releases of the Hot Wheels SM, and even the Funko stirred some memories
