But originally, this script by Ellis St. Joseph featured only the Sandman, with Robert Morely picked to play the role. You were asking at the end about the date of the Harold Hornsby column with the Buck Henry interview; earliest reference I could find in Newspapers.com was January 22, 1966 - it was in the Buffalo News, but it was copyrighted to the Los Angeles Times. The reference to gays and the theatre was omitted in Buffalo. The Times didn't publish the column (this time complete) until January 24th.
