While looking up the Mrs. Batman story, I found something else interesting. Wonder who at the University of Michigan had the pull to get actual Batsuits from Fox Television, and what happened to them afterward?
"To the medical eye, such childish claptrap means only one thing, young man: You need some sleep."
Since the series had just premiered on January 12, 1966 and this newspaper Article was published the next month, that means the event took place early in the show. Possibly 20th Century Fox (wanting to appeal to college students), saw this as a marketing opportunity. Just my thought.
It looks like they did not trust the utility belt in college student hands, however.

I wonder why they were singled out for the loan? I always wondered if it was a national publicity campaign.
Agreed, this has to have been done in line with some sort of official promotion. There's no way someone's uncle kindly loaned those costumes out clear across country.
Very specific and odd type of promotion that doesn't seem to have been repeated elsewhere? So far away from Gotham City and such valuable assets at that, in what is essentially the public's hands. There must be some more to the story behind "borrowed from Twentieth Century Fox..."
