Glynis Johns-RIP

Post by epaddon »

Just three months after she turned 100, Glynis Johns has sadly passed away.

Sad. I'll always remember her in playing Diane's mother. She was so sweet. Was thinking about picking up her Miranda double feature, but its OOP, and somewhat more expensive.

Mrs. Banks in Mary Poppins and introduced Send In The Clowns on Broadway. Known as the girl with the upside down eyes. R.I.P.

Lady Penelope Peasoup. I'll always remember her for that, and Mary Poppins. Those two episodes were goofy fun.

She had a long, memorable career, but one of her standouts is not the first film anyone thinks of when discussing her career: "The Neat Job", the second segment from the Amicus' second adaptation of EC's horror comics, the 1973 anthology The Vault of Horror:

17:58 - 32:30

Johns was both funny and sympathetic in this memorable segment.
