Our fearless Bat-Leader Scott recently celebrated his (*cough* 60th) birthday and at his birthday dinner last Saturday in Burbank, CA, ten or so of our pals gathered to eat our body weight in Sushi at a really great spot that Scott, myself and our resepective wives really enjoy eating at.
There were gifts aplenty to open and we all sat around like Christmas morning, ooh-ing and aahing at the fun selection of very "on brand" birthday offerings. Scott eventually got around to opening a very thin and neatly wrapped gift from our good friend, Sean. The package measured roughly 8x12 inches in size and way less than 1/2 inch thick. Intriugued as to what was inside, I think it's more than fair to say that neither Scott nor I would have guessed in a million years what was inside. Sean, whilst shopping for a '66 Bat-Gift for Scott had unknowingly snagged a bagged and boarded, mint issue of our Argentinian friend and 20+ year Message Board member, Martin Zamorano's "Adam West Squadron: Batmania" from the late 1990s.
Holy small-world-birthday-gifts, Batman! A really great gift on more levels than Sean could have ever anticipated. Most birthday gifts don't come with homework, but in this case, Scott is really going to have to brush up on his Spanish
