RIP-Kyle Aletter (Lee Meriwether's Daughter)

Post by epaddon »

lee Meriwether's daughter Kyle Aletter, who had a few small acting parts but had her greatest success as a substitute model on "The Price Is Right" for 14 years in the 80s and 90s passed away the other day at age 64. A few months back she had announced that both she and her mother had Alzheimer's and sadly she died first.

Unbelievably sad news. Such an unfathomably cruel end for anyone. Sending love and condolences to Lee and Lesley.

You can definitely see Ms. Meriwether in her.

My condolences to the entire family. I don't remember her from The Price Is Right but I had stopped watching it in the early '80s so I missed her there. She looked somewhat like a younger blonde version of her mom, Lee. Behold the beauty of both lovely ladies back in the day:

Kyle first appeared as a substitute model in 1984 and was with them through 1996. The Goodson organization also had her fill in on the late 80s version of "Card Sharks."

Same here, YO. I went off to college in 1979 and, if I watched “The Price Is Right” after that, it would’ve been sporadic, at best. Didn’t really watch the show again until after Bob Barker debuted his gray hair. My dad loved the show, though, and after he retired I’m sure he would have seen her.

Great photo link, by the way. I was a little surprised, initially, determining who was who. Both looked so very young.

I was curious about her last name as it hinted her father was Frank Aletter. I checked and was right. For those who remember, he was Prof. Irwin Hayden on Danger Island, that fun serial featured (among a few others) on old The Banana Splits Show. That serial also co-starred Ronnie Troup (daughter of Bobby Troup and Julie London of Emergency fame), a very young Jan-Michael Vincent, the always excellent and underrated Rockne Tarkington (loved his appearances on NBC's old Police Story), the absolutely hilarious Kim "UH-OH CHONGO!" Kahana - who became one of Hollywood's top stuntmen, and the legendary Richard Donner of 1978's Superman was the director.

To think Kyle was, like many of us, only 8 or 9 around this time and now gone is both extremely sobering and very sad.

Hoping there's any way at sometime in the future for Lee and her family to find some sort of peace.
