1970s Style Batman Mego

I think it's kind of neat-- I've stuck only with the vintage re-dos, but this is the Batman figure I would have wanted in 1978. New Mego seems to have slowed down, no sign of any of the announced Marvel figures after over a year either, but this 50th anniversary line is still going.

Interesting. I've not read any information about the figure, but it looks like someone's idea of how a 1970s comic book Batman would have been designed. If this is going to be released, I really hope they are considering a comparable Robin figure. that would be fantastic.

Regarding the announced Mego lines such as Marvel and a Star Trek 50th anniversary reissue of the 1st wave, I thought Marty Abrams mentioned at a Mego Meet over a year ago. While reissued Marvel figures would be a great compliment to the DC line, i'm hoping Star Trek is on the "can do" / priority list.

It's really cool-looking. I'd have loved to have it back in the early '70s. It would be just as cool if they re-did the Joker figure to a similar 1970's Neal Adams-style, like, say maybe straight out of Batman #251 "The Joker's Five-Way Revenge!"

I have a hard time keeping up with toys-- I feel like they release and re-release the same items with slight variations-- Mego or FTC did an Adams style Joker with the long face-- I think he had a long overcoat and a hat too. Not 100% sure but someone who collects them might know.

Interesting, Andy, thanks for the info. I don't buy or add to the collection anymore, but I'm interested in the look so I'll search for the image.

FTC released an Adams style Batman and Joker but the FTC bodies were so crappy I never bought one. The newest Mego figured though have had pretty good bodies so I think I’m gonna get it. Hopefully there’ll be a Robin and Jokervto go with him.
