But which version?

“In the wake of this last year’s Batmobile release we’d be remiss in not heeding demands for the Batboat, which we’ve long hinted we’d love to do,” the British company said. “We can finally announce that we have now secured the license and that the Batboat and trailer will be coming your way in 2025, tentatively scheduled for August. This will be the first edition with the ’tin fin’ and will come complete with the super-rare coupler that allows the trailer to be hitched to the (Corgi Model) Club’s matte and gloss Batmobiles!”

Did the first version release of the boat, with the tin fin, include the Batman and Robin figures? I vaguely remember there being figures in the boat too.

I'm interested in this as well seeing as back in my schnick days getting the full, original Corgi Batmobile/Batboat set was a Holy Grail achievement of sorts for me. I always preferred the 'tin fin' as the boat looked the closest to the TV/film version. The later change to a plastic red fin and oddly bland decals didn't interest me in the slightest. Still, with this news I hope they eventually re-release their Batcopter, which wasn't too bad, although not exactly accurate to the '66 movie one.

I guess I had an early version since I remember the "tin fin." Amazingly I had the good sense not to actually put the boat into the bathtub (unlike my brother, who dipped his "talking GI Joe" in the tub for an aquatic adventure, after which Joe always talked like he was staggering home from an all-night pub crawl).

I didn't get it separately, though; it came in the package with the car and trailer. Even at that young age (7 or 8, maybe?) I was enough of a party pooper to wonder why the boat wasn't immediately destroyed by the Batmobile's exhaust flames. But the sheer cheesiness of the Dynamic Duo pulling their boat along like they were on their way to a weekend getaway at the lake was enough to win me over.

I had the gift set #3 and immediately had that boat in the tub. The decals definitely showed the wear, but boy, I loved that set!

I stopped taking baths around 5 years old and I've never gone back-- so I wasn't a play in the tub kid.

It's possible -- maybe even likely -- that my brother filled the tub with the express intent of putting in GI Joe, as opposed to making it a "bath time" distraction. In fairness to him, Hasbro marketed a one-man submarine specifically designed to work in the tub, but his problem was that he had the talking doll that included holes in the chest so you could hear audio from the speaker inside, and while the sub could fit in a figure it was obviously not water-tight. I remember one of Joe's phrases was "Adventure Team, let's go!" but after the swim it was slurred and near-unintelligible, like Foster Brooks having a stroke. A Real American Zero.

I have no idea where the Batboat or the car ended up, but the trailer kept turning up for years before it too disappeared. So far I've resisted the Corgi re-issues, but if they do the two-in-one set, I may crack.

Someone did ask why the Batboat and Batcopter were Black, instead of their respective colors. I'm guessing, but Corgi figured if the Batmobile is Black, then the other Bat vehicles will be black - Batcycle, Batcopter.....

Anyone know differently? Ironic how Aurora got the Batboat colors correct. Have also seen some correctly painted Batboats (customized).

It would be great if Corgi reissued the BatBoat in the correct TV/movie colors! Even if for a subsequent variant.

I gotta say that customized Batboat and trailer are really well done.
