Re: McFarlane 1:1 Replica Cowl display piece
I only made the one I photographed. The images Andy posted were made by The Jerk... They used blue plastic for the face and couldn't color correct the face paint so it looks dead.
Basically, this guy hired someone to rip off our regular cowls so he could have Adam sign them.
After paying the thief quite a lot of cash, he gets 100 bright blue spandex hoods and cowl shells that are shrunken, baby sized pieces of cr@p.
The guy, apparently not knowing the cowls are not supposed to be bright blue, pays Adam to sign all 100 of them!
It's only then he realizes they are cr@p.
His wife reaches out to us to see if we can fix them! They send a few and they are really horrible so there is nothing we can do.
A few weeks go by and the thought occurs to me to sculpt the opening credit Batman which is brighter blue. Use a styrofoam head with vacuformed parts to create an inexpensive form to showcase the signed hood. Pretty cool , right?
The guy loves the idea and I give him a bid.... Only to find out he was shopping my idea around to get everything made by someone else, cheaper!
He made the mistake of contacting a friend which told me what this jerk was doing.
I lost it and after I got the money for the prototype fabrication, sent him the molds and told him to get lost.
That was the last time I spoke to him.
It's my understanding he wasn't able to move forward and ate the expenses.
Sorry for the OT post!

That’s too bad, Chuck. I think the fans would enjoy an affordable BAOCC (“Batman Animated Opening Credits Cowl”).
BTW, Andy didn’t post the pics.

Chuck, sounds like you need an exclusive contract with these types of knuckleheads. Intellectual Property has some value, that’s the key to making anything happen. Sort of like Batman’s origin, or Spidey’s origin, one guy has the name (Kane, Lee), but that’s about it, the artist has the vision to make it a reality.
Some days you just can't get rid of a ... SHARK!

It's listed as shipping in January-- so nobody is getting this under their tree unless you leave your tree up for a month-- for myself I'm always happy to see the tree go up but I'm happier to see it come down and get the space back.

Ha!- I LOVE Christmas, but we have a tiny house so space is a premium.
